Class of 2018 College Application Information

*Resume Writing – Remember to visit the College and Career Center  or the Writing Lab to gain assistance in creating a resume. A Resume is important for gaining employment and will assist with the College application process.

*Letters of Recommendation – Want your teacher to write you a letter of recommendation?  Remember you need to ask them in person and then request your recommendation through Naviance.  Please be mindful of your application deadlines and give your teachers enough time to write the letter.

*College Application Essays – Remember you can find your application essay in the college application.  You can ask your English teacher, counselor, or someone in the College and Career Center to review your essay before submitting.

*Common App Info – Before you start your application gather these important pieces: unofficial transcript, list of extracurricular activities, test scores, and parent/legal guardian information.  See your counselor or stop by the College and Career Center for help filling out the Common Application.

WHS Athletics Sign-up

As a reminder, our sports registration is online for the school year using FamilyID.  This is an easy to use program allowing athletes to complete necessary forms online.  Fall sport athletes can use the “Athletics” link on the main page of our WHS website to access the FamilyID link.  Winter and Spring sports will be available closer to their seasons.  Based on the support of our Watertown community, the Pay to Participate Fee this school year was decreased to $100 with a family max of $200.  This has been corrected online for the upcoming school year.  If you have any questions, please contact our Athletic Director Paul Catuccio.

WHS Welcome Back

We are excited to welcome everyone back for the upcoming school year.  As a reminder, our freshmen orientation will continue to be on the first day of school this year.  All freshmen students will start on Thursday, August 31st for orientation facilitated by our Watertown High School LINK crew.  Busses will begin normal routes on August 31st for freshmen who need transportation.  We will serve lunch, but students are welcome to bring their own.  Freshmen students will then run a mock schedule for their classes to find the rooms and meet their teachers.  All students will return on Friday, September 1st for the first regular day of school.  We will run a normal Monday schedule on September 1st so that students will be able to meet all of their teachers.

Please note that based on student and staff feedback, we have added Homeroom to the daily schedules on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays.  This should appear on students’ schedules in PowerSchool.  This updated daily schedule can be found on our website.  Schedules have been available in PowerSchool throughout the summer, we encourage all students to review their schedules before school begins in case any changes were made.
